Dear Ms. Moriello,
Thank you for contacting us concerning your flight credit with United. Unfortunately, credit is only valid for a year from the date it was issued. Your travel credit would have been only valid up until January 2002. For more information on booking an entirely new reservation please contact our reservations center at 1-800-UNITED1 (1-800-864-8331)
